Additional notes, instructions or tips.

In BidStation, attendees are your bidders in the auction. Each attendee needs their own record in order to have a unique bidder number for the live and silent auction. One question you may want to consider is, do you want to issue one bid number for each couple or one for each individual?  The answer may depend on how accurate and complete your attendee data is.

We recommend one person be in charge of attendee data so that it is prepared to their specifications and is consistently stored.  Multiple people accessing BidStation’s attendee data at one time can cause data inconsistencies that will negatively impact your auction, due to each person’s data input skills.

On this page we’ve also included a video demonstrating how to import data into BidStation from Excel or from CSV file formats. Typically, the bulk of the attendee data is gathered and prepared in Excel and then imported into BidStation.

If your import is getting errors, try copying your data to a fresh new excel spreadsheet and then trying again. Sometimes ghost data remains present in Excel spreadsheets that have been in use.
